Wave Cam 4.0 — HST Truck Replacement Set

Fourth-generation HST wave cams. Single-axis geometry, two pieces, all fiber-reinforced nylon. The aluminum cam key is gone — its geometry is now molded directly into the bottom cam. Here's a video.

The slot corner is filleted to 2.69 mm. FEA under identical loading shows peak stress drop from 35.67 MPa to 12.73 MPa — a 2.8× reduction. We didn't change the material. We changed the shape.

Single-axis rotation eliminates the off-axis loading that caused mushrooming at the pivot cup on heavily-ridden 2.0 cams. The hanger returns to center snappier and more predictably than any wave cam we've built.

Wave cams are wear items. Sold as a set of two matching pairs — enough for one pair of HST trucks. If your trucks are wiggling, rebuild with the Flow Kit instead.

Requires a thin coat of wave cam lubricant. 100% backwards compatible with all HST Trucks and Original Skateboards S8 trucks.

⚠️ Important: Do not over-tighten the kingpin. Especially on Original and first-generation HST Trucks with the Flow Kit, tightening the kingpin all the way down — especially with the bushing installed — can crack the wave cams, particularly in cold weather. A couple of threads showing through the locknut is enough — watch the video below for the correct technique. You may prefer to ride without the bushing entirely if you like a looser, more traditional feel.
