Two Communities, One Shared Passion

Over the past five years, especially through our involvement with the 24-hour Miami Ultraskate and a deep dive with the long-distance pushing (LDP) community, we've learned something important about skate paddling enthusiasts: there are really two distinct groups out there, and they each need something different.

The Skaters: These folks are committed to traditional skateboarding. They're open to trying skate paddling, but when it comes to their ride, they want what works—proven, high-performance longboard gear. For them, Loaded makes some of the absolute best longboards on the market.

The Water People: Surfers, SUP paddlers, longboard surfers. They're naturally drawn to our SUPSkate completes because paddle skating feels like an extension of what they already love. I've heard it a hundred times: "Yeah, I skate, but I'm not a skater." They want that water-like sensation on land.

A Partnership Built on Friendship and Respect

Here's where it gets personal. Don Tashman, the owner of Loaded, and I (Donnie) have been good friends for years. We've always admired what the other was building. Now more than ever, we're actively exploring ways to cooperate—not compete—in a way that grows participation in board sports for everyone.

I have enormous respect for the quality and performance of Loaded, Carver and Orangatang. Don has a reciprocal respect for what we're doing with Hamboards, SUPSkate, and our HST Trucks. It's literally Don and Donnie working together to cross-pollinate our communities and create more opportunities for more riders.
